The Power
of Visual
Communications.

“Get a government job.” This concept was etched into my brain as a little girl in the central valley. It didn’t matter what, you were guaranteed long-term employment, good pay and great benefits. But, I needed more in life. After two uninspiring years at CSU Sacramento, I signed up for a journalism/advertising class and learned about advertising basics: targeting specific audiences, subliminal messaging, slogans, creative copy, photography and illustration. I wanted to learn more! I transferred to CSU Chico to focus on graphic design. It was enrapturing! Now, graphic design wasn’t a safe government-type job, but I took the chance. I now love being creative and designing projects that go beyond expectations. Milton Glaser once said, “There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and wow! Wow is the one to aim for.”
